Temp Associate Scientist, Protein Biochemistry

Pay Range: $40.84 - $48.28/hr

Onsite Role in Tarrytown, NY

Regeneron's Protein Biochemistry group, located in Tarrytown is seeking a Temp, Associate Scientist who will be responsible for providing in-depth characterization of therapeutic proteins to support research, and late-stage development of various programs. In this exciting role you will be encouraged to participate in method development and technology innovation efforts aimed to improve our understanding and characterization of biotherapeutic proteins.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

• Conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments and analyze data to elucidate quality attributes of therapeutic protein candidates and gene therapy for late-stage development and regulatory submissions.
• Document all analytical work in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) according to a defined protocol accurately.
• Accurately log sample details into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) or other tracking systems.
• Provide additional support in administrative tasks related to data management and reporting.
• Communicate any findings to supervisor.
• Maintain and troubleshoot essential instruments in lab.

This Job May be For You If You:

• Possess the desire and ability to work in a team environment.
• Have experience in the general operations of a laboratory and be able to manage and organize data with manager’s supervision.
• Possess experience and foundational technical competencies in key analytical protein methodologies, including spectroscopy techniques such as Fluorescence, FTIR, and Circular Dichroism. Experience with Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) is considered a plus.
• Possess a passion for science and innovation with a strong commitment to continual improvement and making significant contributions in a collaborative environment.

This role requires BS in Biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Biochemistry, or related field plus 1-3 years of relevant experience. Technical proficiency in automated FPLC and/or HPLC (SEC, IEX, affinity), electrophoresis (native and/or SDS-PAGE, western blots, 2-D gels), and spectroscopy (UV, fluorescence, and/or circular dichroism) Hands-on experience with light scattering and/or capillary electrophoresis techniques is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry.
