Temp EH&S Specialist 

Pay Range: $35-$50/hr

Onsite Role in Tarrytown, NY

9 Month Contract 

The EH&S Specialist will be presented with the opportunity for growth and professional development while gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of Environment, Health & Safety disciplines such as safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, radiation, chemical hygiene, emergency response, ergonomics, training, construction, etc. The EH&S Specialist will support the implementation and continuous improvement of programs that ensure regulatory compliance, promote a safe workplace, and minimize environmental impact. ​

A typical day might include:

• Executes EH&S projects and tasks within limited parameters under regular supervision.
• Learn and adhere to internal processes and procedures to ensure consistent workflow, maintain quality standards, and support cross-functional collaboration.
• Organizes EH&S inventory and coordinates respiratory protection inspections.
• May be asked to provide training as necessary and assists with EH&S on the job training.
• Writes clear and concise safety related communications, including e-mails, letters, and job aids as required and assists with revising safety related policies and procedures as required.

This role might be for you if you have:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficient in computer skills, such as Microsoft suite. Ability to learn specialized software applications and specialized safety and industrial hygiene equipment.
• Frequently interacts with end users and various management levels including senior management. Ability to prepare and conduct presentations of technical EHS information concerning specific projects.
• Ability to develop and conduct EHS training sessions.

To be qualified for this role you will need 0-1+ years experience in related field and industry, and we require a BA/BS degree. A degree in a science related field is preferred. We are looking for someone who has experience working in a lab environment. An advanced degree and/or certifications (Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and/or Medical Emergency Technician) are a plus.
