Temp Process Development Engineer I, PMPD (Purification Development)

Pay Range: $41.53 - $49.13/hr

Onsite Role in Tarrytown, NY

12 Month Contract

Regeneron's Preclinical Manufacturing & Process Development Group (PMPD), located in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking a Temp, Process Development Engineer I as a full-time position to work in the Purification Development group. In this role, you will be responsible for purification high throughput screening experiments, supporting purification of various biological molecules, and assisting with equipment maintenance and/or data mining projects.

Job Duties

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like: 

• Perform high throughput screening experiments and supporting laboratory work to inform purification process development for clinical and commercial processes 
• Document experiments, results, and findings in electronic laboratory notebook 
• Maintain instruments and troubleshoot  instrumental/experimental problems 
• Collect and aggregate historical data and analyze to generate insights

The role requires a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in either Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related scientific field of study, and 0 - 3 years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. A strong fundamental understanding of various protein purification and technology transfer principles a plus. Experience with Downstream Development and with equipment like: Akta Avant, Akta Pilot, Akta Process Skid, Disc Stack Centrifuge, Depth filtration, Tangential flow filters, Normal flow filters, Chromatographic columns, HPLC, UPLC, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration skid, Laminar Flow Hood, Chemical Fume hood, Empower, Unicorn, JMP, LIMS, PI Historian a plus. Experience with robotic liquid handlers, Raman spectroscopy and/or software programming a plus.
