Temp Financial Analyst, R&D Finance

Pay Range: $39.77 - $48.43/hr

Onsite Role in Sleepy Hollow, NY

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, R&D Finance, the Temp Financial Analyst, R&D Finance serves as a key partner in supporting the Research and Preclinical (R&pD) organization in financial analysis and business planning, reporting, and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, and managing budgets for research and preclinical areas. A key aspect of the role includes managing and forecasting the Preclinical Development Expenses for the R&D organization. This will entail compiling program level budgets and working with cross functional teams to gather assumptions for those budgets. Your attention to detail and ability to quickly develop trusted relationships with people at all levels across R&D, as well as within the broader Finance Team will be crucial to your success.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

• Meet regularly with R&D department heads and build strong relationships with stakeholders
• Analyze R&D department budgets and develop quarterly reforecast numbers to maintain both the operational and financial forecast, load forecast into Hyperion during reforecast periods
• Perform monthly review of actuals and provide analysis of actuals vs. budget or forecast
• Work closely with cross functional teams, accounting, and alliance management
• Prepare and present financial analysis in support of ad hoc requests and projects
• Work with project managers to develop forecasts by activity for antibody programs and monitors actuals vs. forecast on an ongoing basis
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting (MBA and CPA a plus), with a minimum 2 years relevant experience. Previous budgeting/planning/monthly variance analysis experience and strong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous position(s) a plus. Advanced Excel skills needed to manipulate raw data and provide meaningful analysis (Vlookup, Pivot tables, IF statements, macros) required. Previous experience and strong understanding of the Biotech/Pharma industry required. Familiarity with Oracle Hyperion financial planning strongly preferred.
