Temp Senior Scientist - Structural Biology
Pay Range: $51.06 - $83.27/hr
Onsite Role in Tarrytown, NY
6 Month Contract
As a part of the Therapeutic Proteins department, this group is devoted to the analysis of promising drug candidates in Regeneron's pipeline, as well as understanding the targeted biological pathways, using X-ray crystallography, cryoelectron microscopy, and related biophysical techniques.
As a Temp Senior Scientist, a typical day might include:
Running enzymatic digestion of antibodies and purification of Fab fragments
Purifying and characterizing multi-protein complexes using AKTA and Agilent FPLC systems with Wyatt MALS detector
Preparing cryo-electron microscopy grids using a Vitrobot
Collecting CryoEM data on Thermo Fisher Krios and Glacios electron microscopes
This role might be for you if you:
Are able to drive a project from designing and performing experiments through interpreting data and making figures
Are highly organized have experience managing a project, including maintaining an up-to-date lab notebook and detailed records
Are able to work collaboratively and are adaptable based on the evolving needs of the group
In order to be considered for this role, you should have a Ph.D. in structural biology with a focus on cryo-electron microscopy and 0-2+ years of postdoctoral experience, or a BS/MS in a biochemistry-related field and 8+ years of relevant experience. We are seeking someone who has extensive experience with protein purification and cryoEM grid preparation. Experience with cryoEM data collection and structure determination would be very helpful, as well as experience working with membrane proteins.
