Embryology Associate
Pay Range: $40 - $48/hr
Onsite in Tarrytown, NY
6 Month Contract
The primary role of this position will be to support high-throughput production of genetically engineering mouse models designed for discovery research and drug development. A successful candidate must be proficient in performing techniques associated with in vitro fertilization, germplasm cryopreservation and recovery, and/or microinjection.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform murine in vitro fertilization and sperm analysis
Cryopreservation of mouse sperms and/or embryos
Prepare laboratory reagents and handle cryopreserved biospecimens
Collect, harvest, and culture of murine germplasm
Necropsy and/or dissection microsurgery
Assist with animal surgeries and with pre- and post-surgical care
Assist with maintaining inventory and supplies for the operations of the laboratory to include ordering of lab supplies, tracking shipments, and logging receipts
Data entry, analysis and report of results
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or life sciences
Experience with murine handling
Experience with techniques associated with marine IVF, cryopreservation and cryo recovery
Be familiar with the safe handling and storage of cryopreserved biospecimens
Surgical embryo transfer via oviduct and/or uterine is a plus
Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail
